10K female fighters

Today is a great day for the Awakening team, spirits are even higher than usual. We're so happy to have reached 10,000 female fighter profiles! It's taken us three years and we still have a long way to go. Our small team are dedicated to the cause, we enjoy the researching of info, messaging athletes back and forth, and we appreciate being corrected - right down to the minor details. There's no point in doing any of this if the info is incorrect!  We absolutely love hearing back from athletes who have received sponsorship, or some new opportunity assisted by the third party being sent the link to the athletes profile. On those days, working on Awakening is simply golden!

The female fighter database has now become a monster. On average, we're able to add 200-300 new athletes a month and update 600-1000. Over time we will be able to do much more, we're currently still held back by switching everyone's fight histories over to the new format.  Each profile can take anything between 20 minutes and 16 hours.  Go check out Sylvie von Duuglas-Ittu or Valentina Shevchenko for the 16 hour profiles! To be fair, some of that time would have been spent just sitting back and wondering how a fighter could be so prolific!  It's a lot of fun what we do, and we hope in some way that we are a small part of the growth of female combat sports.

If you would like to help us continue to making a difference there are few small things that can be done by anyone and would mean the world: share our facebook page, Like our content, retweet us, add a link to your profile on a website, facebook, twitter or even as part of an email signature. These kinds of things really can help us grow.

That's enough about us, who was our 10,000th profile?
