Fallon tells Awakening, “I first started training in 2008 in order to lose weight. A physical trainer suggested I try out martial arts at a local MMA gym. There, I found the arts of Jiu Jitsu, and kickboxing. The training I received, the women I trained with, and the female fighters I looked up to, inspired me. These experiences changed my persona from a more quiet and withdrawn single mother, to an outgoing female warrior (who still loves being mom). MMA has taught me to stow away my fears in the face of opposition, and be the woman I am.”

Fallon Fox is a female fighter from Toledo, Ohio, United States.

She first began martial arts when she joined her high school wrestling team. After a long break, she would begin Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2008 to get back in shape, and developed a passion for the art and other contact sports.

Personal Life

Fallon joined the United States Navy in 1996 as an Operations Specialist, and served for four years before completing her service as an Operations Specialist second class. After her military service, she studied at the University of Toledo.

She is openly transsexual, having undergone her surgery in 2006. She is the first openly transsexual athlete competing in mixed martial arts. She does public speaking engagements to share her story and tell how martial arts can empower all women.

She is also a mother to one daughter, Taylor, born in 1996. She has raised her as a single-mother since she was 11 years old.
