We'd like to take this opportunity to the wish the entire fight community a Happy New Year! We hope that you are raring to go with your New Years Resolutions.. ie, no more cake!
2013 was a truly historical year for the female fight community. The UFC finally changed their stance on WMMA, thus opening new doors for female fighters and bringing a much wider, newer and spellbound audience. This will have a huge and positive knock-on effect for the many other promotions around the world that already include female bouts on their card. Most of all, this effects the thousands of female fighters with their eye on the UFC goal. It's not all about the UFC though, lets us not forget what a great year Invicta Fighting Championship has had - we wish them longevity and a great 2014.
Female Muay Thai has made a lot of ground this also with events such as World Muay Thai Angels dedicating their entire cards to female bouts. Promotions such as Lion Fight in the US and Enfusion in Europe, and all the many others around the globe that are now heavily promoting their female fighters are doing wonders for female Muay Thai.
We would also like to thank you all for supporting the Awakening team in our efforts to showcase and promote the athletes and the entire community. Here's to 2014, more athletes, more promotions, more entertainment, more blood, sweat and tears.
