Welcome to the fourth and final part of our WMMA dissection of the 15 new Invicta Fighting Championship’s signees. Today we’ll be discussing the Bantamweights and Featherweights (there’s actually only one female fighter in the later). If you would like to read about the other weight divisions then don’t forget to visit the other three articles in this series. Pt.1, Pt.2, Pt.3
Enough talk, let’s take a look at the new signees…
Peggy Morgan, aka The Daywalker (New Hampshire, United States) most people will probably recognize from her appearance on The Ultimate Fighter show. She has a Pro record of 2-1-0 and holds a blue belt in BJJ. Peggy is definitely not shy in the cage, and is a very well rounded fighter. She also has a son.
Cindy Dandois, aka Battlecat (Antwerpen, Belgium) has a Pro MMA record of 5-1-0. Although two of her victories have been via TKO (Punches) this shouldn’t fool you into thinking that she is just a heavy hitter. Cindy is a World Champion in Judo and has a gathered a long list of medals in the last 13 years. Probably one of the most impressive facets to Cindy is that she is also a single mother of three, so finding time to train must be difficult.
Irene Aldana, aka Robles (Jalisco, Mexico) is a 25 year old MMA fighter with a Pro record of 3-1-0. Out of the signees, Irene is the one we know least about – suffice to say that all three of her victories have been via KO in the first minute of the first round. We can’t wait to see her inside the Invicta FC cage!
Faith Van Duin
Faith Van Duin, aka The Immortal (Papamoa, New Zealand) is a 27 year old fighter who had an incredible 2013, winning all four of her bouts making her 4-0-0 Pro MMA record. Her latest fight was a fourth round Triangle Choke victory over New Zealand’s much respected Kate Da Silva. Submissions are not all that we can expect from Faith, she was also a Junior World Champion in Kickboxing!
We hope that you found this series of articles useful and are as excited as us with the new depth in the Invica Fighting Championship divisions.
