We had worked with both Grace Anderson and Vicky Church before so we were extremely excited for this one. It was to be a last minute K1 fight at CSFC Challengers 2, in which Vicky standing in and not at her usual fully trained level. Having an in-depth knowledge of each fighter’s style, and indeed being friends with both really spices things up.

At long last we got to go and watch Iman “Pretty Killer” Barlow fight. The fight was in her home town of Melton Mowbray, UK at an event hosted her fathers Assassins Gym. There were approximately twelve fights on the card but we were sucked right into the main event and it’s build up.
Huxley vs Cunvin
19 May 2013. We travelled to Barry, Wales to a fight night hosted by Eagles Gym. The reason for travelling was to watch the Lauren “The Hatchet” Huxley fight. Her opponent, Natasha Cunvin was unknown to us at the time, but we’d seen Lauren fight before and were so impressed that we wanted to see her fight again. Lauren is a youngster, but shows a lot of promise and focus…
Anderson vs Walkey
6th April 2013. Grace Anderson faced Claire Walkey in Guildford, UK at CSMMA’s Ultimate Conflict 4 in a last minute K1 bout. Grace’s greatest assets are her power and dedication, whereas Claire has a youthful fearlessness about her and Touchgloves Gym showing her the way.

The two inaugural Awakening World Muay Thai Titles took place this past Sunday at Fast & Furious 2 in Penzance, Cornwall, UK. The event marked an emotional and historical notch in the Awakening timeline. Not only were there the two first ever Awakening titles up for grabs, it was actually our first co-sanctioned event.

Clash of the Titans
Clash of the Titans was a mixed Muay Thai event hosted by Touchgloves Gym in Penzance, UK on 4th November, 2012. They had set the venue up in a very atmospheric and fitting way. The arena was dark and misted by a smoke machine, and was reminiscent of the kind of Muay Thai event you might see in Thai movie. There were twenty-three fights in total, seven of which were female.

History was made on Saturday 6th October 2012 at the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, KS. The first ever Invicta FC world champion was crowned after a great Atomweight bout between Jessica Penne (California) and Naho Sugiyama (Japan). Penne beat previously undefeated Sugiyama via triangle choke in the second round (2:20).
Women Fight Back
Women Fight Back event was hosted by Colosseum Sports (CSMMA) in Aldershot, UK on 25th August 2012. The show itself was in aid of Victim Support for Women, raising funds to support victims of abusive crimes. The turn out for the event was not that high considering it was a charity event, we feel the community could have made a better effort to support it.

August 18 th 2012. It was a great fight card indeed this evening. There were many male fighters, who all put on a great show, but you’re not on the Awakening page to read about those and we’re not here to write about them. Hats off to them, use Google to find out more.
