Tiffani tells Awakening, “In September of 2012 I took up Martial Arts at the age of 17. After a particularly tough year leading up to then I had to find something new and out of my wheelhouse in attempt to refocus my mind on positive things. I had remembered an online ad placed for SouthWest Martial Arts, a dojo not 30 minutes from where I lived, and decided to give it a try. After my first class I was hooked and knew it was something I wanted to try my hardest to be my best in it.”

Tiffani Underwood is the youngest of three girls in a pastors family. She is known for her calm and quiet demeanor, and it was somewhat surprising to her family that she started training in martial arts. Incredibly, she had trained for three months before even seeing a fight of any sort.

She currently works as a Teller at a local bank.
