The response was incredible, many more people than we imagined got involved and we believe that all of the sharing that went on did wonders for spreading the word about female Muay Thai - more about that later.

These awards were nominated and voted by the community. We believe this is an important and different way to attract new supporters of the Muay Thai community. Community nominations also bring awareness to some people that might not be widely known, but deserve the recognition. After consideration of some comments we received we will be making a few changes to next year’s nomination process to improve it. This was the first year of the awards and we believe it was a success. Each of the winners, and nominees were well deserved. There will have been a few names that were not included due to not being nominated by anyone. With the success of this year’s awards, we hope more people will be aware of the nomination process next year. We also had to unfortunately exclude a few names due to not being able to verify information on them. This is simply because Muay Thai records and histories are badly kept on a global scale – this is something we are working hard to change.
