March 9, 2024, Busta Arsizio, Italy – Team USA showcased a flawless 2-0 performance today in Busto Arsizio, Italy, on the seventh day of boxing at the E-Work Arena in the initial stage of the 2024 Olympic Games World Qualifying Tournament.

Shera Mae Patricio from Waianae, Hawaii, secured her second triumph of the tournament after a come-from-behind victory in the first round, positioning herself just one win away from qualifying for Paris.

Patricio, facing Argentina's Sofia Micaela Robles, initially trailed with a 5-0 deficit but rebounded impressively. She dominated the second and third rounds unanimously, overwhelming her opponent with a relentless barrage of punches. The unanimous decision victory earned her a place in the upcoming match against Thailand’s Jutamas Jitpong, a two-time World Championship medalist and 2020 Olympian, on Sunday, vying for a coveted spot in this summer’s Olympic Games.

“I am feeling really good. I was down in the first round, and I knew I had to pick it up,” shared Patricio post-victory. “I looked at my coaches and believed in God. I fought all the way to get this victory, and now we are one away.”
